This list provides a location at which takes place the discussion of the digital reproduction of vinyl audio material. This process comprises digitising the vinyl recording (i.e. connecting a record player, or similar, to a computer and recording the contents of the vinyl recording in a digital format, namely .WAV.), and then removing the crackle, scratches, noise, and possibly skips (where applicable), using a product such as the Sonic Foundry Noise Reduction plug-in. The two main purposes of this are to (1) lessen the wear caused by constantly playing an album, and (2) to archive an album.
