Further to an Audacity folder in program files - (x86). That folder was
created or updated on my machine on 8 August. That was the day I installed
version 3.03.
I have just uninstalled Audacity and removed the Audacity folders from both
program files and program files - (x86). On reinstalling, the latter folder
was not recreated.
I am fairly certain I deleted everything before installing version 3. All a
bit weird.

I was about to reply and say no, but I notice that I have it there as well as
in program files. And I deleted everything before installing the new version.
Perhaps we should enquire of the good folk at Audacity.
