I use Text Envelope for two or three adjustment pairs, but I'm
sighted, looking at the Timeline to figure what I want. 

I prefer the Text Envelope to the real Envelope Tool as it is 
less "fiddly" and I can enter the exact volume change required
rather than guess it. 

And I can use Text Envelope for a fade from a point by a 
certain number of dB, so don't need to have the "Fade by dB"  
plug-in as well.
