Robert - thanks a lot, the full set is enabled. Now, from your
experience, should a newbie check off Preferences > Interface > Show
extra menus?
Would you be kind enough to recommend any plugins to be downloaded and
installed by the beginning podcaster to start up with some decent
toolbox, please?
Best,
Pawel

Well, I wrote down the steps to enable the full set.
Control+P for preferences
K for keyboard
tab until you're on the "Default" button
Space to open it
F for full set
OK

You can also pan by 10% with Shift+Alt+Left/Right.

Note that all tracks in Audacity are mixed on export.
So, you would import your soccer sound.
Select the portion that you need
Control+T to trim it or any other method for deleting the unwanted stuff.
Import the music track
deselect it and select the soccer track again.
navigate to the point where the soccer should start
Press Alt+T+A+C to align the selected track with the current cursor.

Hi Rob,

I’ve looked at the guide, still not sure how to enable the keyboard.
As for pasting the track, what I mean is can you mix 2 tracks together?
Pasting doesn’t work with this.

Hi, the first thing you want to do is enable the full keyboard set
(described in the guide) then shift+P will work.
Control+P -> keyboard -> default button -> full set.
For mixing, just paste your snippet onto a new track.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Further questions

Dear all,

Thank you for the help with mp4 files.

As someone who used goldwave, you’ll have to forgive me but I have
further
questions, I’ve read the very well written jaws guide, but I don’t have
the
answer to the following.

Can you mix tracks with audacity? Eg: sounds of soccer over a song? If
yes
how? I tried to cut 1 track to paste over another, but I could only
hear
1
track, when I’d like to hear both. I need to cut snipits from 1 track
to
paste over another and need to hear both, is this possible?

Where in the menu can I find the special effects?

The guide states, shift P will help you to pan a track, none of the
shift
commands work with audacity 2.33?

Can you record the system output as well as your voice, if yes how
please?

So far I’m struggling with the programme, perhaps I’m expecting too
much?
Just in case, I’m using windows 10, jaws 19 and audacity 2.33.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

H
