Rich, I am almost certain that the answer is no at this time. Virtual
instruments invariably rely on the DAW (digital audio workstation) having MIDI
input capabilities. At this stage, Audacity can play a MIDI file, but cannot
accept MIDI input.

There are many guitar amplifier simulator plug-ins on the market, including
many free versions. Most of them seem to be .dll files. Will any such
