Hi Gerado
Your situation is similar to Claire's, but a bit more complex. There are
probably several ways of achieving what you want. Before going further, I
stress that practising before starting on an important project should avoid
tears and frustration.
1. Put your music onto track 1. Depending on your style, you may want to
apply a fade out (Effects Menu) towards where you start talking.
2. As with Claire's situation, play or jump to the position where you want to
start recording.
3. Press shift-r and record your podcast. Unless you have much more talent
than me, that will involve cleaning up woopses. You may do that as you go or
later.
4. Now to your short drop-in pieces. I think I would record them on separate
tracks for convenience. Select the contents of the first one and press
control-c to copy. Then, go to the track containing your podcast and move to
where you want the first interlude. Be sure that no material is selected to
avoid overwriting it and press control-v to paste the interlude. You would
then need to either delete the tracks containing the interludes or, probably
better for future use, mute them.
Another option would be to use the align tracks facility under the Tracks Menu
to put each interlude where you want it. But then you would have to insert
silence into your podcast track for the length of the interlude (Generate menu).
5. For the music at the end, either place it at the end of the podcast track
or on a fresh track and use Align Tracks.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Inserting a track in the middle of another?
Let me place the scenario for you guys: I’ve 4 tracks in the Track view
Trak1 which is the Intro;
Track2 which is my recorded presentation/podcast.
The rest of the tracks are 10-second blurbs of “you’re listening to”, “You’re
tuned in to”.
what I’m wanting to do is firstly the intro, and after the Intro, my
presentation to start. Once that’s done, I’d like to place in the middle of my
presentation, at certain points within, each of the blurbs. Finally the closing
track of the podcast, I?d like it to be appended to the whole thing, thus
forming a podcast with its Intro, presentation, and within the presentation,
each of the 10-second blurbs, and finally the closing track. HOw’s this done in
Audacity?
