Hello,

I need to select between two markers.

I go to the first one by pressing home and then alt right arrow. I can listen I am at marker one and indeed if I do press space bar I will play from the marker one so I know I have been put there. I then press [ right after pressing alt right arrow and the time range that the [ dialog show me for the beginning of the selection appears to be consistent with the marker.

So with the start point set I press alt right arrow and I go to the marker two. I press ] and I can see on the opened dialog that I am indeed at marker two. The problem is that the starting point also goes to marker two, it is no longer at marker one.

How can I select between two markers?

Hi Sameer

For completeness, facilities for marking positions are in the Track Menu.  The one you want is to mark at playback position. The default shortcut is control-m.  When you press control-m the screen reader will tell you that you are on track x (track 2 if the recording is taking place on the only track so far).  At this point you can give the label a name and press Enter or simply press Enter.  I favour giving it a name.

If using Audacity version 2.1.3 or later, once you have finished your recording you can use alt-left arrow or alt-right arrow to jump from label to label.  Alternatively, from the Track Menu you can go to Edit Labels and have all sorts of fun adjusting positions etc.

    Hi all

How do you mark a point while recording to be able to quickly return to that specific point when playing back?  For example - Whilst recording, I realise that I would have to return to a specific point in the audio to cut something out (so it would be useful to be able to mark that point while recording with a keystroke and to go back to it when editing).

Any help will greatly be appreciated.
