Hi Adrian
You are making your life much more complicated than needs be. No need to solo,
mix or render. No, it does not matter which track you import first. As I
mentioned previously, aligning tracks is what you want. The following is much
easier in practice than it seems when reading this:
1. Make sure the voice track is not selected
2. Arrow to the music track and select it.
3. To use your example, move to the 1 minute 3 second point. There are
several options for doing so. You could just play to the position you want and
press x to stop there. Alternatively, you could press left bracket ([), press
Home and enter 000103 and press enter.
4. Press Enter to deselect the music track.
5. Arrow to the voice track.
6. Press Enter to select it.
7. Press alt+t to open the Tracks Menu.
8. Press a to open the Align Tracks submenu
9. Press c to align to cursor.
You may then want to adjust the level of music and/or voice. Because they are
separate tracks, you can adjust each individually. This is the benefit of
multi-track software.

Hi guys,
I was mentioning I am looking for some advice about how to put a pre-recorded
voice track over a music track at a certain time.
I was adviced by Andrew by now to import both files which I have done but don’t
know how to align them in order to have the voice starting at a later time in
music track. Lets say 1 minute and 3 seconds.
Does matter which track I import first?
Do I have to mix and render into a new track? I am stil confused.
I have selected the voice track then I solo the music track, stoped where the
voice wish to be, using X and then I have used mix menu but the voice still
starts from minute 0.
Can I ask you please what options and short keys you usually use to perform. A
task like this?
