Hi Robert,
concerning nvda not reading group names, you may want to have a look at the
patch which I submitted to nvda:
http://community.nvda-project.org/ticket/3473

I'm not sure when when this or something similar will be incorporated into nvda.

David.

I highly prefer NVDA over Jaws.

Firstly, Nvda updates the focus automatically. With jaws, you have
often to move away from an item and then tab back to see the correct
value (in effects for example).

The effect progress is correctly announced per beeps or percentage output.
One issue is that some dialogs are announced as "Dialog" and not the
actual name of the effect, nor is the info line automatically spoken.
However, I regard those as features and not as bugs since they
facilitate the daily work--unnecessary information is surpressed.
A bug that is a bit more distracting is that group names in dialogs
(especially preferences) are not spoken--I'm working on this.

Please let me know if you encounter other problems.

Robert
