Let me clarify. When I say serious musicians, I'm referring to those that
play an instrument. Not those that cut, copy, paste instruments from a
database. So here goes my question.
Oh, before I get to my question, I'm especially wanting to hear from those
that are either totals, or can't make out what's on the display.
If you play a digital instrument that has an LCD display, how do you access
the menus?
I'm a totally blind drummer. And I've just purchased a new electronic drum
set. And like the 16-track sequencer that's built into my synthesizer,
accessing the menus is, as you know, basically impossible!
Now I can switch to different drum kits. But I need to find out how to
adjust the attack on some of the pads.
It seems no one is pushing or at least trying to convince makers of such
instruments, accessible for us. And thus far, iPhone apps aren't any help
either when it comes to trying to make sense out of it all.
So I figured I'd pose this question to this community.
I'm an old school kind of a guy. I took music theory to learn how to put my
ideas onto tape. Not borrow someone else's creations.
Now this is my own personal opinion, so don't get angry and I don't mean to
offend anyone. For I respect those that do use cut, copy, paste. But I
think composing from your imagination is a better way to displace your
God-given talent.
So, that's it. Hopefully I'll get more helpful ideas than negative
responses about my personal opinion.
