Hi Ted,
Claire is wanting to hear a music track whilst recording a speech track. As
others have said, there is an overdub setting for that. If can be found
both in the Transport options sub menu of the Transport menu, and in the
Recording category of the Preferences dialog.
The playthrough setting which you referred to is for listening to the audio
which is currently being recorded, which in Claire's case would be her
speech.

David.

Yes you can. I will assume you're wearing headphones.  Go to
Preferences, CTRL P.
Find the Recording tab.
Chec the second item, Software Playthrough of Input.
Tab to and click OK.
Note: Wear headphones because otherwise, you will have feedback.

Hi all, I have yet another question for you all. I have a music track
which
I need to use, but I need to record some speech over it, this is to
create a
podcast intro, does anyone know if it is possible for me to hear the
music
track while recording my speech? the speech will not need to start until
around the middle of the track. Thank you in advance.
