Hi Jen

A couple of questions:
Have you previously recorded using the Scarlet or are you in the process of
setting it up?  If it was working previously, we can start to ponder what may
have changed.

I am not familiar with the Scarlet.  I had a quick look at a video on the
website and it mentioned that a downloadable driver is necessary for Windows.
If using Windows, have you installed that driver?

Joey's suggestion of a sample rate mismatch is well worth a check.  Given that
the Scarlet claims to record up to 192khz, that shouldn't be an issue, but
worth checking what is set in the Windows Control Panel.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Request for help resolving a recording problem

Hi, everyone. I love this list!
I'm having a problem recording. When I try, I get a message from Audacity
saying the recording device isn't available. It also says "error code -9985".
Anyone with experience dealing with this error, please let me know what I need
to do. My recording and playback device is my Scarlet 2I2 amp, so I probably
just need help adjusting something on that.
Thanks for any help.
Jen
