Hi Matthew, welcome to the list. You can get the elapsed time while recording from the audio position control on the selection bar. To move to that control from the tracks table, press ctrl+f6 to move to the selection bar, and then tab until you find it. Press ctrl+f6 twice if you need to move back to the tracks. In case you haven't already found it, there's a Jaws guide to audacity: http://goo.gl/dQ75G David. ----- Original Message ----- From: Matthew Bullis <matthewbullis@xxxxxxxxxx> To: audacity4blind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: Sent: Monday, 20 August 2012, 8:17 Subject: [audacity4blind] Showing elapsed time while recording? Hello, new to the list and to Audacity. I've been a Sound Forge user for ten years, but needed another recording program, since the USB turntable I just bought becomes its own sound card once plugged in. In Sound Forge, it's difficult to set the sound card settings and go back and forth, so I'll just use Audacity for transferring lps. Is there a way to see the elapsed time while recording? I couldn't find it on the screen, even while using the Jaws cursor. I'd like to keep tabs on the recording, in addition to hearing it played through as the monitor setting. Thanks a lot.
