Hi all, I am trying to figure something out and maybe someone can help me on this one. My girlfriend and I have a funny idea for a youtube channel, similar to but different than the chipmunks we want to have a group where the songs are sung at a higher pitch. So this is easy to do in audacity but then when you upload these to youtube, is this within the copyright laws or will you get tagged. I believe there is something to do with creative commons licence, well it is our idea, and we altered things, but I am unsure and can't find any resources on the net which explain this. I thought of how often people make remakes of old songs. I know that sometimes not only the singer but the recording company can hold copyrights to music, but do I have to get permission before uploading each song, especially if it is not for professional use but for entertainment only? Hope someone knows the answers to these troubling questions.
