Hi all, I am trying to figure something out and maybe someone can help me on
this one. My girlfriend and I have a funny idea for a youtube channel, similar
to but different than the chipmunks we want to have a group where the songs are
sung at a higher pitch. So this is easy to do in audacity but then when you
upload these to youtube, is this within the copyright laws or will you get
tagged. I believe there is something to do with creative commons licence, well
it is our idea, and we altered things, but I am unsure and can't find any
resources on the net which explain this.

I thought of how often people make remakes of old songs. I know that sometimes
not only the singer but the recording company can hold copyrights to music, but
do I have to get permission before uploading each song, especially if it is not
for professional use but for entertainment only?

Hope someone knows the answers to these troubling questions.

Thanks,

Brad Erhardt
