Hi Ron,
doing roughly what you say should have worked:
1. Check that the track is selected.
2. start playback, press left bracket at the desired time to move the cursor,
press spacebar to stop.
3. press shift+j to select a time range from the cursor to the beginning of the
audio.
4. press delete.

Note that after you've selected the time range, you can check this by these
methods:
1. playback will play only the selected time range.
2. When there's no playback or recording, pressing the left bracket or right
bracket keys open dialogs which contain the start or end of the selected time
range respectively.

David.

Hi all.

Recorded a 4 hour track and can't seem to edit
it.

I'm trying to cut out the first few minutes of the
recording, and pressing the [ where I want it to start then doing J and delete
usually works.  However, after pressing Shift and j the track goes back to
the beginning.

Can someone please advise?

Many thanks.

Ron
