I see that someone sent the guide I discussed in the first part of my message to the list. I'll retain my comments. They may be useful. There is an Audacity guide in written form, intended for use by blind people, you may find useful after you learn the basics of Audacity. It is written for JAWS users but the information is mostly or perhaps almost all applicable to other screen-reader users as well. The guide is densely written and you will probably find something more like a tutorial to be considerably more useful as a new user learning the basics. I did a presentation for Accessible World on the basics of Audacity and of Mp3 Direct Cut. Both are covered in the same file. Audacity is covered first. Here is a note on something in my presentation. I said that you have to save a file before you edit it. That appears to be incorrect now. I'm not sure if it was correct many years ago. In other words, you should be able to edit without saving a file you have recorded first.
