[audacity4blind] inserting silence in the middle of a track and adding background music

1 How do I insert silence in the middle of a track in various places? When I
try, the whole track is silenced or only part of the track is played. Could
I get steps?

2 How do I insert music and an audio track f my voice on top of the music?
