Kathy,

You'll need to tell us what software you are using to edit your books, and
probably what software you use to scan them in order for us to help. It
also helps to include info like which operating system you are using, plus
any software you are using to access the screen, like JAWS or Window Eyes
since the numbers you are refering to could be something that the software
is throwing in when it reads or displays the info on the screen.

Gerald

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] A scanning question from a new volunteer

Hi, all! I've been using books from Bookshare for awhile and would very
much like to start giving back. I don't have a lot of time, but I do have
time to at least do some scanning. I just bought one of these really cool
Optilek Book scanners and really like it! My question is, how do I get
these pesky little numbers that show up in the text I scan out of there?
These are not page numbers, just these little numbers, neatly arranged
chronologically from 1 to infinity. I had this problem many years ago with
stuff I'd been scanning, and then those numbers mysteriously disappeared on
their own. Any idea about what's going on and what to do about it?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Kathy
