Whew, Lissi, nice to be able to "talk" to you again. Had to talk my way out of a court-martial, fight my way out of the brig, and plea bargain my way down to a day of observation in Sickbay, all because I, ahem, oh, I'm so ashamed, misquoted

a dying Spock (again, when he died the first time).

Had a deep philosophical discussion with my husband about how Grandma Cindy could "ever have been my idol" when I didn't know she existed three months ago. Indeed, Spock said good-bye to Kirk like this: "You are and ever SHALL BE my
friend." (Perhaps because he knew he would live to die again...)

Puts a lot of pressure on you, Grandma Cindy! (... to "ever shall be my idol"...)

Live Long and Prosper to you all,
Marilyn

Dear Marilyn,

When Spock died for the first time! Evan says, "That's Star Trek for you!" He also said that William Shatner said, "No one ever really died in Star Trek for certain."

You've got lots of Trekker company on this list, Me, Evan, Kelley Hartman et al.

We have many Trek books in the collection though some are only in good or fair condition. There's plenty of Trek scanning and validating to be done.

Your enthusiasm for validating is wonderful. I feel as excited about doing it now as I did when I started. I hope you'll feel the same way years from now.

Live Long and Prosper,

and

Always with love,

Lissi

Dear Grandma Cindy,

No, I haven't released it, I'm working on it this very second.
I know how busy you are; I don't want to make it worse.

G. Cindy, when Spock died (the first time) in Star Trek,
his parting words to Captain Kirk were: "You are and ever
have been my friend."

G. Cindy, you are and ever have been my idol.

A long-time Trekkie,
Marilyn

I went up to take it but apparently someone already has--or have you not released it yet, Marilyn.

I think Sue wanted someone sighted to take it because of legal terminology, or was that a different book and a different person? You know, Marilyn, if it interests you you can keep renewing it until you're ready for it. But if not, I'll take it, though I won't get to it for a long time. I have a 900-page book to do when I finish these shorter ones, that I keep postponing but do want to get to.

G.Cindy

Hi, All. Need a little help here.

Could someone remind me why I am now validating
ANYONE'S
DAUGHTER by Shana Alexander? Is this by someone's
request,
or did I pluck it out of Step 1 by myself for my own
amusement?
(I can't remember.) If it's not by anyone's
request, I'm going to
bump it for a smaller book and a book that needs picture
descriptions. ANYONE'S DAUGHTER is almost 600 pages
and
I will do it and do a good job, just not right now.

Is that okay with everyone?

Gratefully,
Marilyn
