True they have gone from earth, but they are happy and rejoicing in the
wonderful experiences of Afterlife. 'Don't think of those who are slain
in God's way as dead. No, they are alive, finding their sustenance in
the Presence of their Lord. They rejoice in the bounty provided by God;
and with regard to those left behind, who have not yet joined them,
they (should) glory in the fact that on them is no fear, nor have they
cause to grieve.' (3:169-170).

If they love Allah, He will open their hearts and comfort them even
while they are in their grief.
'O believers! Seek help with patient perseverance and prayer, for God
is with those who patiently persevere. Do not say of those who are
slain in the way of Allah: 'They are dead'. No, they are living,
although you may not perceive it.' (2:153-154).
