Wow. Imagine getting a garbled book from a reading service where you need to understand it for class to actually participate. This person would be better off getting a good, old-fashioned reader. The best thing BookShare could do would be to contact the publisher. It's better not to have an unreliable source than no source because you'll end up in the same place either way and in the second instance, you will have more time to deal with the reality.I've read more than one message on the K1000 list where people asked for a way to deal with math books of one sort or another. The answer was never all that positive.
Sorry to sound so negative. I would much prefer not to be.----- Original Message ----- From: "Grandma Cindy" <popularplace@xxxxxxxxx>

Not necessarily, not if one needs it ASAP, for class. Someone requested Elements of Statistical Reasoning for a class she's taking, and it was added to the collection on Thursday, but it's rated Fair. By the time anyone got it into Excellent shape the class probably would be over. Hopefully it's useful as it is, and later on, if she has time during spring break or this summer, or while she's reading it for class, she can clean it up and then resubmit it as a BSO. The immediate need for a textbook book is why I suggested the exception.
