Mary,

If what you are referring to is that clipboard pane on the right hand edge, you can get rid of it without destroying the clipboard function.

If the pane is open (Ctrl-C twice will also open it), you will find a small button at the bottom of the pane. It's called Options and clicking on it will present four options. The second one will collect your copyings but not show the clipboard pane. It is necessary to close and re-open Word to make this take effect.

If you wanted to get rid of the clipboard entirely I'm afraid I can't help you.

of it was close Word and open it again, but I know there's a way to clean it out without having to do that, or get rid of it, so it won't show up at all. I hope some Word guru has the answer for this one.
