Hi Reggie, Of course I can't find it now, but I was sure I read something the other day somewhere about software upgrades for the MPower. You might try calling Humanware and ask if there's updated software that can handle RTF files. I know the Apex handles RTF and Word 2003, though it doesn't, I don't think, do docx files from 2007 or 2010. All the notetakers are getting rather out of date! It's because Version 7.0 of Windows CE (which is now called something else) isn't compatible, and they use it. Check www.humanware.com for their phone number. Question! Hi Reggie, Since this is brief, I'm going to respond here. I have a BrailleNote Apex, and it reads RTF files. I wonder, if you upgraded your software (I know there are upgrades for all the BrailleNotes out now) if it might have that capability. Does anyone here have a BrailleNote they use for reading? I have a question about file types. You are welcome to contact me off list about this if you wish since this is not a BrailleNote list. Here is my question: I download a book to proof or read, (most concerned with those I am proofing). It is in RTF, of course. I cannot open that RTF file after transferring it to my BrailleNote. In order for me to read and proof, I need to first change the file to a .doc file, transfer it and read it from the BN and then reverse the process so I can format. I am using Word 2003, Windows-XP. My brailleNote is an MPower build 22 I think. It is an older machine anyway. I am trying to open in Keyword. If anyone can help me with this, I would be extremely grateful! It would save me some steps and possible consequences I think would not happen, but sometimes things are lost when changing a file from one type to another. So far this has been working with nothing returned, but I would rather proof in RTF. Thanks. Reggie
