Thanks for the info, Judy!

The dog project might be a pet project for 2009 if I can fit it in with
everything else!

Hi, Cait, glad you got it. I love horse stories. I've been an
unabashed reader of anything that features horses prominently in
the story, or is about horses, beginning way back when I first
learned to read as a horse-crazy kid.

Ever since I joined Bookshare several years ago I've downloaded
and read all the horse-related books that have entered the
collection, and kept a list of the titles. I started by looking
through all the titles in the animal books category, and finding
all the ones that were about horses. I added to that group all
the titles where I knew horses featured prominently in the story,
like Dick Francis mysteries and K.M. Peyton's books. I also
check regularly the titles and synopses for new books that are
added to the collection.

Then, a new Bookshare member posted a request when he joined
Bookshare early this year for titles of any horse books, as he
loves horses and horse stories too. So I sent my list to him.
Since then, as he found found books that I hadn't found, or I
found new ones he hadn't heard of, we've kept each other up to
date. I'm sure I've missed titles, as I don't check westerns out
very well, I rarely read romances, and I suspect I may have
missed some in the fantasy genre as well. Any suggestions of
titles to add are most welcome! smile.

I love the idea of doing a list of all the dog books and maybe
one on guide dog books. If you decide to do that, I'd be glad to
help.
