Hi, Melissa, what I do is write in brackets the words "start here" when
I end each proofreading session and delete it when I start again. I've
never marked up the text to indicate if I have questions, but what do
you think of writing TQ to mark the file where you have problems? Of
course one would have to delete those before sending it up for approval.
Do you mark it at the top of the page next to the page number or do you
mark it near the word in question? Regards, Kim Friedman. P.S.: I tell
you, I ask myself if I had a head on my shoulders why I never thought to
do something like that. Usually I copy snippets of questionable text and
send them to the submitter. K.

I have used Word's bookmark feature in proofing books before without any

problems. I've also put [begin], that is begin in brackets, to mark my
place, which I simply delete when beginning the proofing session. I also

use the marker [qqq], that is 3 qs in brackets, to mark a place where I
have a question that I'd like some eyes to look at.
