On the train to a meeting with RNIB in Birmingham, and just catching up on this week's email! Thanks for the folks who chimed in to (completely correctly) clarify my position while I was missing in travel action. To expand: Our process is to convert most books into an internal intermediate file we call BBX. It's a single file version of a DAISY book (real DAISY books come with several surrounding files: NCX, SMIL and OPF in addition to the XML file). From that single file, we can create either a DAISY book by generating the extra files or a BRF file by running Duxbury. Better formatting in the XML leads to better navigation in the DAISY book and better formatting in the electronic Braille file.
