Hi, Merrill. I think this would be an excellent idea. As someone who mostly enjoys reading fiction, it would be nice to tell at a glance if a title is fiction or Non Fiction. I'm not sure if this is still the case, but I know that talking books from NLS have either an "NF" for Non fiction or an "F" for fiction on the outside of the plastic mailing containers. It seems like this would be an easy addition to the category list. also, it might be something to think about as a possible inclusion into the search engine on the web site. I think it could be helpful for some if choices could be divided this way when looking for books to download for reading or for validation. Hope that made since. <grins> Just my $0.02 here. Books that are about current events, public affairs or government--these sort of run together at times--are classified as simply nonfiction or history. Something that happened a short time ago is history, but I don't think of yesterday's news headlines that way. I'm wondering if a new category could be added. Secondly, the categories are in no particular order and I have noticed that books which are fiction may also have, for example, a history designation because they are set in the past. I think of history as nonfiction. I was wondering if the categories could be classified under nonfiction and fiction categories. For example, mysteries, science fiction, romance and such would be under literature and fiction while animals, sports, travel, textbooks and such would be under nonfiction.
