Hi everyone!

When I was working with the backup of the Malcolm X book to try in Poly Edit, that word processor's default font is Currier New. I didn't realize that until after I had saved the file. When I loaded it into Word to see for sure that I had solved the line break problem, the font was still Currier New and the size was 10, which is the default size in Poly Edit. When I tried to change the font type in Word, all I got in the list besides Currier New was device font, or something like that. I had no trouble changing the size, however.

Since I didn't know what that was, I closed Word and opened the file in WordPad, where I was able to change the font very easily to Times New Roman. I saved, closed WordPad, loaded the file back into Word, and all is well with Times New Roman and size 12 for the whole document, since I had selected all of the text, which I wanted so I can size book title and chapter headings accordingly.

Has anyone else gotten the device font thing in Word? If so, what do you do to get the list of fonts on the system Word could choose from?

Debby
