Hi Lori,
Unfortunately, information about formatting chapter headings seems to be in
a couple places in the manual, so you sometimes need to hunt a little for
what you want.
Chapter titles should be on one line-that includes the word chapter if it's
there, the chapter number and the title if there is one. And you already
found the exception for when this is more than 65 characters.
This requirement is in the section called "Chapter Headings".

Hello,
I am proofreading a book that has a number and a title for each chapter.
As far as I can find in the manual, the information discusses only titles
over 65 characters.
In the book I am proofreading, a chapter number is on one line and the
chapter title is on a second line.
Am I to put the number and title (less than 65 characters) on one line in
bold, 16 point or am I to leave the text as it and if so do I put the
chapter title in 14 point?
