-Merrill, I understand what you mean. I had google
checked for strict filtering ("Use strict
filtering (Filter both explicit text and explicit
images") because I'd been getting quite a bit of porno
sites when I'd been doing some searching. Then I
wanted to research some stuff about the human body,
with diagrams, and I couldn't get it! Finally I
realized why. I've changed by filter to moderate --
now it blocks images but not text -- and I remember to
go to"No filter" if I want to see certain works of art
or diagrams of the body.  It would be nice if
bookshare could somehow have degrees - as someone
suggested, rather than adult, there could be
catagories of Warning: sexual content, violence,
profanity, obscenity.  That still wouldn't solve the
problem of kids having access to what parents don't
want them to see yet, though, I suppose.

In my opinion the books you have in mind could go
without the Adult rating but with information in the
synopsis explaining what they are.
