I'm almost finished with Philippa Gregory's The Virgin Lover and, though I know the theories behind Robert Dudley's wife's death, I wanted o do some more research. In the course of that, I found a review of a TV series The Virgin Queen. The reviewer mentioned that her "favorite Elizabethan series ever [is] authored by PF Chisholm: A Famine of Horses, A Season of Knives, A Surfeit of Guns, A Plague of Angels." She also mentioned authors that those of you who are fans of that period, both of histories and novels, have mentioned, like Jean Plaidy--whose works I haven't yet read, Philippa Gregory, and Alison Weir (nonfiction--she didn't mention Bertrice Small, though, and her novels are what got me into wanting to read more set in that period of time). I haven't read any of PF Chisholm's works myself, but they might be desirable additions to the collection and ones that would find several willing validators. smile Cindy __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
