Kim, go to start, programs, accessories, and up arrow to wordpad. Once you are on Wordpad, press the application key, usually the second key to the right of the spacebar. This will bring up a menu press n or arrow down to the menu item that says send to. This has a pull-down or submenu. In the pull-down menu, you want to select desktop create desktop shortcut. There you go.
