And I should apologize here. I grabbed that book about a month ago, because I thought it would be enjoyable to read. I realized that there was a great deal of work to be done, and just released it, when I should have rejected it. Today I grabbed another book. It should have been a simple validation ... Just a romance novel ... But the person who submitted it made no attempt to clean up the scan. And most of the errors are easily corrected by examining the word in context. I've already spent two hours on it, and I know I've just scratched the surface of the problem. So I understand your frustration with validation. I've seen so many excellent scans of late that when I see a fair book, there's a large part of me that wants to reject it out of hand. OCR is at a very reliable level nowadays; so much so that I ead all of my personal mail with a scanner. There's no reason for the condition either of these books is in. Sorry Freedom in Exile landed in your lap; I should have rejected it when I saw it a month ago.
