Hold forsPeople get busy. Sometimes they get lazy. Someone could completely
drop off the planet and the hold for would stay in the collection indefinitely.
If one can only check out a book for two weeks to proofread, then it makes
sense to me to place some parameters on how long a person can request a hold
for on a book before actually doing anything with it. Again I agree with others
who feel that the time limit might need to be reexamined, but I am glad some
parameters will be there.

Again I say that hold fors should be the business of the scanner and the
proofer.
