Hey Shooting is fun, my daddy taught me how to do that. And the trip to the hot springs sounds fantastic. Shelley L. Rhodes B.S. Our conversation touched on many things, from gossip to hobbies, but I was asked whether I'd been blind from birth, if I'd ever seen colors, etc. I wasn't offended. But you're right; if these questions had come from total strangers, I'd have been annoyed, at the very least. Out of that conversation, we came to three conclusions: a trip to the hot springs is in order some time soon, never order hamburgers at a Mexican restaurant, and they're going to teach me to shoot, just for the experience of it. Although that last is blindness-related, it felt good to find someone who understands my desire for experiences, even ones such as this. So, no, I wasn't offended by any of this, but it's all in context. The woman who offered to rub prayer oil on my eyes to help me see offended me, though many would say she had the best of intentions. It's all about context. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Shelley L. Besides, at least for us dog owners it kind of comes with the territory. However, I will say I do get offended if a complete stranger comes up to me and says, "So were you blind from birth?" and or "What caused your blindness?" smile, especially when I have no clue who tthis person is. I will say there is no such thing as a dubm question. Well yes there is but not if it is asked out of sincere desire to learn. I still love the one someone asked me one day. "So, the sign says I am not supposed to pet him, is that true?" And "Is that a real dog?" Which my friend and I were so dumb founded we didn't know what to respond to that one, smile. Though he is an awful bad toy dog, smile, very messsy, and eats a lot, smile, was all I could think of, smile. Shelley L. Rhodes B.S.
