Jackie,

Others have pointed out that rtf is the preferred
format now--and you can work in Word and then just
bvefore submission convert to rtf and everything,
i.e., page breaks and bold and italics, will be saved.

But if you like validating, don't worry about the
week's deadline. No one can carefully validate a book
in a week. You can renew ad often as necessary. Count
seven days, including the day you download the book.
Then, on that day or a day or two before, when you go
to upload, you will see 3 choices--upload, release, or
renew. When you click on renew you have the book for
another seven days from the day you renewed.
