Some one may have already responded, but I didn't want you to think that was
the policy!! Non subscribers have to write an essay so that we can make sure
they are dedicated and not joining to get access to the copyrighted content,
which our digital rights management says we must protect. When you join as a
subscriber, you promise to do the same thing.

Technically a volunteer could gain access and not do any work so we want to
prevent that (access for the wrong reasons).
