Someone placed 4 small books on the download list that were supposed to be BRF. When I unzipped, they were dxb files. I put them in my BrailleNote, changed the extension to BKS, unzipped with the Bookshare unzip which turned it into a dxb extension. At that point I went back and again changed the extension to a brf extension. Now I could read in the book reader. As the BRF file in the book reader had a lot of characters that I think are on the BN itself but since I cannot be sure of this, I checked the book, found there were no mistakes in the words and then deleted it. I have the zipped files on my computer. Should I place them again on the BN and go through the unpacking again and then rename to the brf extension and hope the extra characters I found were really not there or is there an easier way to make a Duxbury file into a brf file? On the upload page it says I have to send it up as a brf file. I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks. Cannot ask on my BN list since I am off for a while. Just too much mail for me. BTW, I will probably get shot down on this, but has there been any thought to getting everyone to change KES and ARK files to RTF and if they are braille files to making certain they are true bks files? It seems there are a lot of books that could be checked if they weren't in a format that must be changed. some have been on the list for months and months. I have taken some and changed them. Well, actually my husband has changed them for me. However, I think it would be much better and more folks would get credit for their scanning if they changed it before uploading. JMO. If you read all of this, thanks! Reggie and Lonnie
