Hello Everyone!

Well, after a rather weird scanning mess, which I will relate in a minute, in case my experience helps anyone, I have just submitted "Tour Of Danger," By Carolyn Keene. This is the twelfth in the Nancy Drew & Hardy Boys SuperMystery series. This time the teens are in Japan to solve the case. It is in rtf format, spell check done, headers removed (I remembered this time, thanks to Gwen reminding me) and all pages and copyright info present.

Now, for my scanning mess. I must first say that I am incredibly fortunate to live with a man who is a computer brainiac. Without him, well, I'd not have either a computer, or a usable copy of this book. Anyway, beware of your scanners with the buttons on the front for one touch scanning! We thought they were disabled, but somehow they became enabled, and though my KES file looked fine, when I converted this book to RTF there were about 150 extra pages which I couldn't find in Kurzweil. Let me tell you, was I confused. Jon fixed the book with Word by converting it to text first, then putting it back to rtf. I think that's what he did. Long story short, beware, of accidentally pressing the buttons on your scanners. They won't make any sound to let you know that they've been pressed, and they will insert zillions of blank pages into your document that you can't even see are there when looking at the file as a KES file.

Okay, sorry for the huge ramble. I hope someone else can avoid doing this to their books. I think I still have two books to refix because of that problem. Here now is the info about the just submitted book written on the back cover.

Peace,

Mayrie
