Hello,
K1000 11 usues the Omnipage 15 engine I believe. This engine does take a bit
longer to OCR--I am using Omnipage 15 here and noticed a difference when I
upgraded from 14. However, it is a much more accurate engine. You can cut
down OCR time by setting the engine to scan quicker, but that may degrade
the quality of the OCR. I have not tried this, but I have been told that
there are only two options: scan for speed, and accuracy.

HI Shelley,

I am running 11.01 now and haven't seen this over all. There are some books
I have scanned with 11 using my Opticbook, that took longer to recognize. Is
this where you are seeing the slowness?

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] K 1000 version 11 very sluggish

Hi you all,

I just installed Kurzweil 1000 version 11 and it is sluggishly slow. I
never had this problem with Kurzweil 9. I am trying to figure out how to
remedy this solution as this is aggravating my patience's sorely.

I have purged my Temps and Temporary Internet Files
I have done a Error Check
Am in the process of Defragging
Will uninstall version 9, though, since I don't have a version 9 disk, just
moved here from Pennsylvania am wondering If I need to just keep it.

Could the length in processing be caused by the "suspicious regions" thing,
so I keep that on "kept.

thanks for any suggestions, am a high caliber scanner and have enjoyed speed

and accuracy, with all my versions till now and am very frustrated. I know
it is not the scanner but the program that is causing the slow down.
