Thanks, Katie, I had thought that it was at least more stable than OpenBook, because I hadn't heard as much from people about their problems with K1000 as with OB. And Jake's features comparison was pretty impressive in favor of K1000. I still haven't decided to move yet, primarily because even with the upgrade price, I'm not sure I can spare the funds at the moment. But I am relieved from your response and from a couple others on the list that I will be getting something that - along with the better features - is more dependable as well.

Thanks.

Hello Evan,

I have been a Kurzweil user for a year and a half now and have not had any
major crashing problems. I am sure with any software package some users will
have problems but with the number of variables with computers there can
always be some. I don't think you'll be disappointed with moving over to
K1000

It crashes a lot? Hmmm. I was thinking of getting an upgrade from
OpenBook, because K1000 has some great features that are not in OB, but if
your experience is typical ...

hi all. Well I got to a certain section of a book and all of a sudden
kurzweil crashes in the same spot every time. I have closed and restarted

it to have the same thing happen. I also have restarted my computer to
have kurzweil 1000 do the same thing again. I can't do any more editing
until I contact them again tomorrow. Man this is really annoying. I
don't know why this program crashes so much.
