Here are a few ideas for improving your proofreading. If you really
want to do a good job, you really need to read line by line and be
patient with yourself. You are doing this, not for your own reading
necessarily, but to benefit others. So, before you do anything, check
for dashes, hyphens that have a space following the hyphen, for the
elipsis. Read the proofreading manual--you might want to write certain
things down--when to bold text, the size of the bolded material. Take
your time and be willing to correct text carefully. Proofreading takes
