Dear Jamie,
Here are a few ideas for improving your proofreading. If you really want to do a good job, you really need to read line by line and be patient with yourself. You are doing this, not for your own reading necessarily, but to benefit others. So, before you do anything, check for dashes, hyphens that have a space following the hyphen, for the elipsis. Read the proofreading manual--you might want to write certain things down--when to bold text, the size of the bolded material. Take your time and be willing to correct text carefully. Proofreading takes time and patience and dedication. If I can help in any other way, let me know.
