Judy,

Your message is kind and explains the problem. Why not forward it to Carrie or
Scott because they could get her email address and forward your message to her.
 Just an idea.

Lori, I've had the exact same problem with Sister Dean's books, and could never
find a way to contact her. It's something in the way she's scanning or editing
her scans. The books were very good scans, but missing all the quotation
marks. It's impossible to fix that without spending way more time than it
would take to rescan the book. I wish someone could get hold of her and tell
her what's happening, as I hate rejecting otherwise excellent scans.

  Hi Lori,

Oh, I agree it's a bummer to reject the book, but definitely way too much
work to have to insert quotation marks. I am curious as to why and how they
were removed. I'll never know, but it's very odd.

Hope you find another book to proofread that you enjoy soon!

  Mayrie

Mayrie, That was a helpful thought, but unfortunately it is not the case with
this book.

I decided to see if I could get some information from google.books. I pulled
up two sentences that I thought should be in quotations. They were in
quotations on google books, but not in the book I'm proofreading.

Unfortunately, I have decided to reject the book. In order to create an
accurate copy someone would have to make many comparisons between the print
book and the bookshare copy.
Sad because it is a very interesting book.

  Thanks again for your suggestion.

  Lori

    Hi Lori,

You might look at the font of the book you're working with. I have
proofread a couple of books where the conversation isn't in quotes, but that
text is either bolded or italicized. Is that maybe the case with your book?
Just a suggestion.

Sorry, I don't know how to contact either of the folks that you want to
contact.

    Good luck and happy proofreading!

    Mayrie

    Hi, Everyone,

Does anyone know how to contact Sister M. Delores Dean?
I am proofreading one of her submissions and am puzzled. The book does not
use quotations around statements that seem to be quotations.

This is the second book in a week where I have needed to reach the
submitter and have had no way of doing so. I contacted Carrie and Scott about
the first instance, as well as this list, but because of their work load I have
heard nothing.

So if anyone knows how to reach either Casey Matthews or Sister M. Delores
Dean I would appreciate knowing.

    Lori C.
