Hello Cindy,

I believe you have asked this in the past, however, a bit of explanation may help newer volunteers who have joined since the January Marissa's List was posted.

Books recommended for rejection are reviewed by administrators to make a decision about. They can either withdraw the book, specifying a message that is sent to the submitter as to why their book could not be accepted, or they kick the book back to step1 with a comment in response to the validators reasoning for rejection (very similar to kicking a book back from admin approval).

Should these be rescanned? There's no definitive answer, although keep in mind that reasons a book could be rejected include missing copyright, or missing just two pages--in which cases it would be much more productive for the original submitter to resubmit and get right, than for a rescan.

I understand that the rejection queue is a list of
books that validators have recommended be rejected for
various reasons, but what happens to them? Do the
administrators take another look to see the reasons
and maybe ultimately accept them, or look at them to
send the reasons for rejection to the submitter? Are
these books that should be rescanned?

Cindy
