Hi Sue, Sounds like you are doing real well with Word 2010. Do you have the ribbons turned on or off and what version of JAWS are you using? I have been quite hesitant to try it - based on your results I may switch to it soon! I am currently using Word 2003 for proofing with Windows 7 but it is quite sluggish! Hope your good luck and success continue. Happy proofing! After you have established that you want Word to open this type of file, which you can do with the "open with" feature, you can then choose "edit from the menu that comes up when you hit the application key. Here are my experiences with this. I chose "open with" after downloading a boo to proof. Word did open the book, but I couldn't correct errors or do anything else except read the file. I exited it. Then the next time I chose "edit" rather than ""open" and voila!!! Now I can use all of the familiar commands!!! Hope this helps someone. Sue S.
