As I remember from my past experiences, it's always a
little scary going to a new place and getting
settles--as you yourself undoubtedly know from going
off to college and then grad school. But you'll meet
lots of nice and interesting people quite soon. I hope
you'll be moving into an apartment house where there
are other nice neighbors to welcome you, or will be
renting a room in a boarding house of sorts. When I
went off to teach I found a room that had been a
sitting room in an old house. My landlady rented her
upstairs rooms to other people. We became friends, and
we ended up having dinner together, which she madeand
doing my laundry (I was probably about your age,
22-23). She also included me in family dinners on the
holidays and taught me cribbage.
I guess you'll try to find a place somewhat central to
your three schools. How will you get from one place to
another? Are there good bus routes.
