Well, we figure that they got in while we were remodeling our siding on the
house this summer. They evidently had another "hole" to get in and out of,
but since the temperature dropped, and it has been raining here the last two
days straight with very cold nights, well, we figure that they tried to find
a safer way in and out. The attic access is in my ceiling, and I have a
"dropped ceiling" so there is a bit of a gap between the floor of the attic
and my ceiling. Apparently they came down here, as it was warm and lighter
than the attic, and proceeded to try to get out that way. Luckily they are
very sluggish this time of year or I and my dog could have been stung many
times.

I have been trying to find a smell up here, it is a bit of an unpleasant
moldy smell and so My little brother was up here yesterday trying to help me
look, that was of course till he saw the yellow jackets. We still haven't
found the source of the smell sigh.

I can hear the buzzing normally, and I do on occasion get things like
Japanese beetles and stink bugs in here so I usually assume the insect
critters here are those, but not this time.

And again because they were so sluggish, I didn't hear them.

But my brother saw the critters, we got out of their fast, locked the door,
and then when my father came home sprayed the ones on the floor and windows,
and then daddy went up and found the nests and sprayed them.

So far today, no more bugs! Few! smile.

Dog ownership is like a rainbow.
Puppies are the joy at one end.
Old dogs are the treasure at the other.

Shelley,

Sorry Utica didn't work out. Can you afford to take a
trip to Palo Alto to check out tht job and place and
housing?

Sorry to hear about the yellowjackets, too. That would
freak me out. How did you know they were there? Could
you hear them?
