Hello Jill, Lissi and Natalie, IT seems that they are referred to differently in different systems. For example on my Sony the two slots are called memory stick which Sony calls a Magic stick and a SD /MMC card. If I have this correct the original memory cards are called flash cards. They are the very thin ones that go in most camera's and other electronic devices. The Memory sticks are a newer version of the flash card and I believe are generally available in larger sizes and have more security options. They are called compact flash cards but that is not their brand name. Sandisk is a very common brand name. I just recently upgraded my BrailleNote and it now refers to one of the cards as the compactflash card and the other as the PCcard. ----- Original Message ----- From: Estelnalissi <mailto:airadil@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, June 23, 2006 11:52 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: OT: Anyone on the list use BookCourier? Dear Natalie, Katie and all, I have two compaqflash cards for my braille note which I bought with rebates from Office Max. I thought it was the name of a particular brand. On my braille note it has two memory sources that sound the same Compact flash and compaqflash. I thought compaq was a brand of a compact flash card. Like Jell-O is a brand of gelatin. Does anyone know? Natalie you've asked a question I've been wondering about for a long time. Hi all, Okay, I have another question. I was checking out the buy.com's memory card, but I'm still confused. I did manage to find BookCourier's FAQ page and this is what it said: BookCourier supports type 1 CompactFlashR cards. As long as you purchase a memory card matching that description, you should be fine. Does this memory card that buy.com is advertising match what the info in the FAQ said? I'm sorry if I seem very much a dunce, but I'm just not good at recognizing this kind of stuff. Some more help on this would be greatly and very much appreciated. Hello list, I'm hoping someone here can help me out. I bought several months back a BookCourier. I've just been using the memory card that came with it, but lately find I like putting mp3s as well as my books on it. This causes me to have to decide what I really want on it before going out of the house. So my question is, can anyone recommend where to purchase a larger memory card for it? I'm a real dunce when it comes to buying computer parts and such and hope someone can just kindly steer me in a direction. Thanks for any help sent my way.
