Good afternoon, All.

I'll keep this short and sweet. If you're really in the mood for some comic
relief, write to me off-list at mmbeagle@xxxxxxxxx and I'll fill in all the
gory and very, very embarrassing details.

Only Myself to Blame: I have two very small yappy-type dogs, Shih-Tzus, they
weigh 15 pounds soaking wet, each. One really enjoys eating, the other can
take it or leave it. From time to time, I feed them fruit. Some fruits I feed
them with a fork (smart) but when I feed them oranges, which they like a lot, I
feed them by hand (dumb, dumb, dumb). So, White Dog gets a section of orange,
and she scrapes my fingers in her zeal. I say, "Hey, don't bite me, don't bite
the hand that feeds you." The apathetic dog needs his section on a plate,
where he will smell it for a while, may take it away to eat, may leave it
there. So, the three of us take turns getting a section of orange. It's the
White Dog's turn, I reach down with a section and--YOUCH! Again, to make the
story short, I'll leave out all the gory details, but they're really gory.
But, yep, the White Dog bit me. On the ring finger of the right hand. That's
why I couldn't type for about a week. This happened a week ago Saturday. I
spoke to the doctor the following Monday, he tells me it's too late for him to
do anything, but if I had come in right when it happened, he could have
stitched me up. (Yeah, sure, like you're open on Saturday nights.)

Now they get their fruit on a plate, on the floor, where I delicately drop the
food from a safe distance. Once a day I get the bandage changed and that's
where the screaming comes in. It really hurts when hubby changes the bandage.
But it feels so much better after.

I will now go through my e-mail and send individual e-mails to people I owe
some work to. If you're one of these people and you don't hear from me this
afternoon, please, please write to me to remind me what I'm supposed to be
doing for you. I have a very low pain threshold and it may have been lost in
the craziness of a dog bite and three Thanksgiving dinners (stress, stress,
stress).

Thank you all for your patience.

Gratefully,
Marilyn
