[bksvol-discuss] OT: Mail problems

(Notice how good I've become about changing subject
lines--smile--a gold star for me)

I've had statements that haven't arrived and didn't
realize until the next statement contained a late fee.
Since I'm always prompt, on the few occasions that has
happened the companies have subtracted the penalty,
but now I keep a monthly check list and if I think a
bill should have arrived and it hasn't I call the
company to see if it was sent, and what the balance
is, and either send them a check or ask them to send
me a duplicate statement, depending on how much time
there is for the check to arrive before the due date.
I've also mailed checks that weren't received and
never cleared my bank, so I check that, too, in a
timely fashion so I can call the company and see if
they received the check. Once the company had received
the check and has credited my account--so I lucked
out, since the money was never deducted from my
account since the check never cleared. smile
